Family Books

My two family books aren’t for sale anywhere – they’re the story of my own family. I began the Baxter side because when I was a child I was very close to my Baxter great-aunt, who lived near us. She told me all sorts of family stories which I wanted to share with my descendents, so the book contains those, along with photos, birth certificates and all that I could find out going back as far as I could. On the Baxter side, that was to around 1700; on my mother’s Donaldson side, I got right back to the earliest records in the addictive website Scotland’s People: 1600.

I’m always delighted to meet fellow family and local history enthusiasts, and do a powerpoint presentation on how I went about turning my own family history into these books which are, I hope, a permanent record for my future great-grandchildren.
